If you want to know more about why we're working with Fairtrade and Fairmined Gold, this film is one to watch. Taking an uncompromising look at the global gold industry it reveals the dark shadow behind the glitter and pulls no punches about the human and environmental cost of gold.
But the story doesn't end there: we meet engineers, scientists, and fair trade advocates tackling gold's environmental and social problems. We see a new biological process for extracting gold on a large scale that leaves no toxic waste and watch small-scale miners benefit from an environmentally friendly process that replaces mercury and produces more gold.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with members of Fair Luxury, the film producer and others to be announced.

We also meet jewellers who have created their own fair trade transparent supply chain that ensures they know exactly where their gold comes from.
That’s where we – and you – come in. This film shows us the power of our choices and why we should all ask the question “where does my gold come from?”
