The Platinum & Gold Collection is launched in 1987 by Vicci Cox and Tony Power.
Vicci recognises Tony’s talent whilst working at the Platinum Guild and the pair team up to create the UK’s first contemporary platinum jewellery showcase. Winner of a number of design awards, including the Diamonds International Award, Tony’s work has been exhibited internationally and both are Freemen of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths.

Rachel Sweeney joins Vicci and Tony to open the first Cox & Power gallery in London’s Brompton Cross, carving out a niche for designer jewellery in the UK in a space designed to share the magic of jewellery making, with the workshop taking centre stage.

Tony Power’s career has demonstrated his love of the history, beauty and emotional significance of our craft. A designer and creator of modern jewellery, his work is in the true tradition of the Master Goldsmith.

Cox & Power is invited to open in the newly designed Liberty jewellery room, creating the opportunity for clients to commission unique pieces alongside choosing from the jewellery collections.

Collaborating with German designers PUR, Cox & Power hosts the UK launch of their award-winning jewellery collection at Liberty. The innovative Swivel collection features laboratory-made coloured gemstones set in steel and runs for over 25 years.

Cox & Power opens in Tokyo department store Takashimaya, followed by further department store openings throughout the country.

The second Cox & Power shop opens in Marylebone High Street; a fascinating space in a then up-and-coming street.

Celebrating 25 years in business, Cox & Power become Fairtrade and Fairmined Gold licensees, creating the first ever Fairtrade and Fairmined platinum ring.

From this point on, Rachel spearheads an ethical direction with each new collection created with certified Fairtrade or Fairmined Gold.

Cox & Power move from Marylebone High Street to Chiltern Street, the home of artisan style and now the only place Cox & Power jewellery can be found.

Rachel co-founds Fair Luxury, the jewellery collective inspiring responsible sourcing and ethical practice in the jewellery world. Their first conference in 2016 is followed by exhibitions raising awareness of ethical choices in jewellery and online events through lockdown and beyond. For more, see fairluxury.co.uk

Our first jeweller in residence is Peruvian designer and social entrepreneur Andrea Jose. We curate an exhibition, create a collection together with Fairmined Gold from the Amazon and explore the future of jewellery with a hosted talk at the Peruvian Embassy.
