Craftsmanship & Provenance

Craftsmanship and creativity go hand in hand at Cox & Power; just as craftspeople constantly hone their skills, we find that ideas inspire ideas. People tell us our jewellery is contemporary yet ancient and we hope we bring a fresh take to one of the oldest crafts in the world. Whether a special commission or a collection piece, all our jewellery has a unique signature and is made with the same attention, care and love.

Our craftsman foundations and love of nature, art and design influence our work but emotion and atmosphere are our strongest inspirations.

We’ve always been inspired by the world around us – coastal and urban landscapes alike – and our jewellery hints at our visual influences but we believe the intimate experience of wearing our jewellery and the personal, tactile quality of each piece is as important as the way it looks.

For our 25th anniversary we created the world’s first jewellery in Fairtrade and Fairmined Platinum and since then we’ve worked with certified precious metal, making each new collection in Fairmined or Fairtrade Gold. With these pieces you can follow the story of your jewellery right back to the earth and know that the gold was mined and traded fairly. Stunning natural gemstones have always captivated us and we make no apologies for having a magpie eye for a special gemstone. Some of our finest pieces have been inspired by a beautifully-cut or rare stone we have discovered and it can take years to develop the right design. Many of the stone cutters we work with have been around longer than we have – sometimes over three generations – and we are working more with ethically sourced and mined gemstones that can be traced back to their source. If you would like a gemstone from a particular part of the world just let us know and we will do our best to find it for you.
